High School Scholarship Program
The Women's Club is pleased to announce it will be awarding scholarships to this year's graduating seniors! We award scholarships to individuals in support of their pursuit of higher education. The anonymous decision making process takes into account an individual's financial need, academic achievement and extra-curricular activities, including service to their school and community. The student must have received acceptance to a public or private institution of higher learning. If you are a High School student who is interested in applying for a scholarship, Click here for complete instructions
and to download the application. Applications are also available in the High School Guidance Counselor's office. Applications are to be completed and returned to the office by May 23, 2007.
Preschool Scholarship Program
For a second year, the Women's Club of East Granby has allocated money raised from its annual fundraising activities to sponsor Preschool Scholarships for EG residents who want to send their child to preschool but are financially unable to do so.
The mission of the WCEG Scholarship Program is to help give the children of our community access to the valuable and enriching experience of quality education. Through helping a financially needy family send their child to an area preschool, WCEG makes a valuable commitment to serving the community.
To apply for a Preschool Scholarship, simply contact the Director of the area Preschool you wish to send your child. They will help complete the application and forward it to the WCEG Scholarship Committee Chairperson. Scholarship money is available on a first-come-first-served basis for tuition at area not-for-profit preschools as well as for-profit preschools (There are caps and eligibility criteria that apply. See the application for more information). The WCEG reserves the right to increase or decrease the amount of scholarship based on any special circumstances presented. Ideally, a WCEG Preschool Scholarship is not meant to fully fund a student's tuition but, instead, to supplement the tuition only after parents have exhausted all other means of scholarship (i.e. through the school directly or other community organizations) and/or their own personal resources.
