12 Senior Luncheon - volunteers needed 12 pm - 2 pm
14 Breast Cancer Walk - at Bushnell Park in Hartford - You can register on the day of the event or go to the web site. http://makingstrides.acsevents.org
20 - East Granby Congregational Church - Their 'Autumn Festival' will be held at 11 to 3p.m. Join them for food and crafts.
26 - Haunted Hayride
27 & 28 All Hallows Eve - Newgate Prison weekend events from 10-4pm. This includes guided tours with fun stations (tattoos and face painting for the kids), search, and discover type events which are only "mildly scary" and overall family fun type activities.
Lance, the ONGP site manager is looking for participants as well as volunteers. Volunteers must be over the age of 13 with parental supervision (no drop offs), but may be a great opportunity for high schoolers to get community service hours. There is a bit of paperwork involved, so let Karen Velleman know ASAP if you are interested in helping at jkvelleman@cox.net or 653-5735.
29 Annual Halloween Party - for all children preschool age to 6th grade. It is held at the EG Middle school from 6 to 7:30 and it is free. Children love this event to show off their costumes and enjoy the games and treats. There will be a drop off box for any used eyeglasses (Lions Club) and another drop off box for food pantry items.
30 Monthly Meeting/Membership Dinner 6:30 pm - "Picnic in October"
30 Flu Clinic, noon to 3:00 p.m at the East Granby Community Center. Appointments can be made by calling 653-5514
November 2007
3 East Granby Congregational Church 'Turkey Supper' will be held with seating at 5 and 6:30p.m.
3 Blood Drive - from 8 to 1 pm at the East Granby Community Center. Walk-ins are always welcome.
8 - Allgrove/Seymour PTO 'Vendor Blender Night' from 6 to 8 p.m. at the EGHS.
9 "Rockettes" - Parks & Rec Dept. trip to see the Rockettes, Living Nativity & Santa's 3-D Sleigh Ride at the Radio City Music Hall. Orchestra Seat Tickets & Bus Cost: $92.00/pp; Bus Departs CC: 7:15a.m.; Bus Leaves NYC: 5:00p.m.; Show is at 2:00p.m. If you are interested in either of these two trips please phone the Parks & Rec Dept. 653-7660.
9 We Cook Senior Luncheon - volunteers needed 12 pm - 2 pm
11 Food Drive - The cub scouts will be delivering donation bags to support the Friend to Friend Food Shelf. Your donations of non-perishable items will be pick up the following week on Saturday, November 17th. The food drive is the very helpful in providing food throughout the holidays and the upcoming year. Please be as generous as our budget allows
15 'Toys and More' toy store at 34 Hazard Avenue in Enfield from 5 to 9p.m. Mention that the PTO sent you and you will get a 10% discount on all non-internet toys.
